I saw this poster on a hoarding outside a rural petrol station on my way to a beer tasting event on Saturday. It's part of the otherwise ludicrous Policing Pledge.
Well, I'm sorry, but it looks like a threat to me. It's just a bit too close to 'You do not have the right to remain silent'. Yes, I know its not the same but I suspect the difference will be moot to many people.

They're not official are they? They look like those spoof ones you see about.
They are official. If you follow the Policing Pledge link you'll see it as the posters are cycled through. In fact it's usually the first one.
OK, no, just followed the link: they are actually serious. What's more "Anything you say may be taken down and used as evidence" has a wholly new meaning these days; they really mean EVERYTHING, absolutely everything. Not just the things you say in front of them, but the things you type into blog comments etc.
I was going to run this on my blog next week... Will have to find another subject now.
