It's your money folks...

Small and medium businesses in the East of England are being advised by the British Chambers of Commerce to take advantage of improved access to more than £100million in interest-free and unsecured loans from the Carbon Trust. For Carbon Trust read DEFRA. That's £100m of your money the government is playing bank with.
David Frost, director general of British Chambers of Commerce, said: “In the current downturn cash is king and one of the first places struggling businesses should look to redeem cash is in their business premises where it's possible to eliminate energy wastage.
(With your money that is).

Don't worry - its swings and roundabouts on this one. My employer is expecting to pay £350,000 from next year, every year, to pay for their "sin" of carbon emissions. And thats on the basis of 20 Euros per ton - a price that is expected to rise to 80 Euros per ton by 2012.

Utter mind numbing insanity.

If you go to the Warm Front web page, you'll see how people receiving benefits can have up to £3,500 woth of work done on their home for heating and insulation. £6,500 if it's oil central heating. I called today to ask what happens if you are a landlord and your tenant is eligable then you want to sell up. There's no obligation to pay back a penny. Landlord's happy with increased value, tenant's happy with reduced fuel cost and the plumber gets another job to do. And green smiles all round! Will

Sign up and they get their tentacles deeper into your business. Once your company begins to rely on the income it will be reluctant to get off the teat.

This is pure "Childcatcher" stuff. Fabians look on and drool at the prospects...
