Me too. I'm concerned about the civil liberties aspect, of course, but I'm also concerned because the decision seems to me to be utterly stupid.

I concur with the Libertarian Alliance statement.
The banning order to me suggests that the Home Office, or at least those "senior" enough to take* a decision did not know about the true nature of Islam4UK or preferred to let sleeping dogs lie until they were clearly barking.
This ban and the recent conviction of 5 protestors in Luton has strengthened the Authoritarian forces in the UK - government, religious and other special pleaders, the professionally offended etc - so that the freedoms of all of us are diminished.
All the more reason that the choice is between now between Threedom or Freedom.
