AP has news of an American, Joe Stack, 53, who flew a light aircraft into the Austin Tax Office, after posting a rambling rant on scribd about his running battles with the IRS.
Whilst many Libertarians may be sympathetic to his motivations, the destruction of life and property of others is never justified, and burning down the house you share with your wife and daughter isn't exactly nice either.
The fire service are saying that the low death toll (two -- including the suicide bomber -- at the current count) is due to the heroics of federal employees, including one gentleman who -- despite wounds to his hands -- managed to smash a hole in a wall and help six co-workers to safety.
So here's to you Andrew Jacobson, who in the midst of this tragic waste of human life and tax-dollars, manages to restore my faith in humanity.

A woman was caught posting a fake "Gadsen Flag" Facebook profile that was supposed to belong to Joe Stack.
The Liberal media also tried to link Joe Stack with the Tea Party movement. He was never a member!
The fact that Mr Stack was financially well off at the time of his death and nowhere near insolvency also makes this "tax- rage-terror-suicide" look rather odd.
Please note that the building he flew the plane into did not collapse into its own footprint at near-free fall speed as did WTC 1 and WTC 2.
It certainly didn't collapse into its own footprint due to small fires as did WTC 7 ;-)
Oh yeah, and the BBC didn't announce the building's collapse 20 minutes before it actually happened.
Please note that I didn't say "inside job". Ohh no no. I don't have enough evidence to say that. I'm just a little suspicious, that's all.
I wasn't attempting to link Mr Stack directly to the tea-party movement, but he's on the same side of the political spectrum -- albeit at an extreme end -- and the ability for extremists to discredit centrists is well established, c.f. BNP, SLP, etc.
I agree with you that it's hard to justify destruction of property or the loss of any life.
However, in darker moments, I can ENTIRELY can understand anyone's frustration with such an utterly useless and totally bureuacratic system staffed mainly by failed accountants and lawyers as tax offices are.
The question I feel I have to ask myself is: should such creatures be considered examples of sentient life or not? I'm not sure of the answer.
Still, like I said, I agree, killing is never good and hard to justify - even thieves such as them.
@sconzey:
"The Joe Stack I knew was mostly apolitical. I never heard him take a political stance on either side... left, right. As far as I know he didn’t have a party affiliation."

His actions were that of someone driven crazy. Given his story, I can understand why he was driven crazy.
I'm just surprised it doesn't happen more often.
