Our immediate target is £2000. We are looking to open a permanent office to handle donations and all the other administration and membership applications.
Times are hard but every £5 , £10 and £20 is income in the right direction.

Although I'm currently unemployed I've just step up a standing order of £10.00 per month to the LPUK. (Ref. Member 854). If even one quarter of members would do the same the target will be reached pretty easily and regularly. I'd urge everyone to do this.
In addition I think a good first LPUK campaign would be in the coming bunfight over proportional representation. In seems to me to be an area where a campaign by LPUK could both do a lot of good and raise the profile of the party. It's one where a party based on actual principles and not a vague marketing proposition (I'm looking at you, Clegg!) could contribute quite a bit to the debate.
My personal preference would be for first past the post with no alternative vote or preference voting for the commons (but with all constituencies redrawn to include roughly the same number of people) and proportional representation for an elected upper house with no appointees and no hereditary peers or judges, bishops etc. This is less important however than giving people a choice and opening up the debate.
